Gentrification vs Revitalization
The Long Beach Community Design Center hosted a powerful and timely panel discussion titled “Gentrification vs. Revitalization” at Studio One Eleven in Downtown Long Beach.
This community-centered event brought together local residents, planners, activists, and thought leaders to explore how urban development can move forward without displacing the culture, history, and long-time residents that make our neighborhoods unique.Panelists shared diverse perspectives on housing, equity, and preservation — sparking thoughtful conversations about how to protect community identity while encouraging thoughtful growth. Attendees engaged in open dialogue, asked meaningful questions, and left with a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing Long Beach’s evolving landscape.
The evening highlighted the importance of centering community voices in conversations around development and reaffirmed a shared commitment to building a more inclusive and equitable future.
I don’t have much photos for this page right now. If you could please use the image of the banner below and also I’m going to link a flyer that you can implement into that page as well. I will try to send more photos if necessary, but if we could just have these two for now, that would be great.
